Amy, a recent graduate:
Initially, I joined EDC because what I heard about the creativity and quality offered by the company inspired me. Since joining in December of last year, the team has shown they not only have admirable technical capabilities, but also a constant willingness to help each other out. The close-knit atmosphere and friendliness of everyone in the office has really shown me that the decision to come back as a graduate structural engineer was a step forwards in the right direction for my career as a professional engineer.
Hear from our staff
Giles, 10 years at EDC:
It is an old saying that time flies but it is pretty true. 10 years at EDC (and also in NZ) have been busy, fun, challenging, and enriching. The initial frenetic post-earthquake time in Christchurch has morphed (a little too slowly some would say) into a busy business as usual setting, comprising a good mix of project types. It has been an interesting ride and one that has been based on relationships the whole way, from working to help weary post-quake homeowners, dealing with numerous sub-contractors, serving a mix of clients, team building fun (and there have been some great events; our Christmas gathering in Whakatane being a favorite), learning to act as an expert witness and being in a business that supports personal and professional growth. Here’s looking forward to the next 10.
Whakatane
Want a change of pace? Have you thought
about re-locating to Whakatane in the Bay of
Plenty?
In response to the on-going growth and development of the Bay of Plenty, EDC established an office in Whakatane in 2017. The office has grown and is consistently busy. We are therefore seeking more engineers, both geotechnical and civil, to join the team.
The work is interesting, including residential, commercial and industrial throughout the Bay of Plenty from East Cape through to Te Puke mainly, but also down to Rotorua.
Come and join a hard-working but fun team. Here, the team is enjoying white-water rafting for an end-of-year activity.
Help with re-location expenses will be offered
