Graeme joined EDC in 2019 as the Structural Team Leader – BoP, and Structural Technical Advisor. Graeme previously worked for BRANZ as the Principal Structural Engineer over a period of 23 years, undertaking research and deriving solutions for structural engineering problems in NZ’s commercial sector, particularly in the area’s of light timber framing and non-structural components. He enjoys putting the wealth of knowledge gained in that role into practice as a consulting engineer with EDC.
Graeme was a member of the MBIE Engineering Advisory Group immediately following the Canterbury earthquakes, taking a lead role in the development of the MBIE Guidelines for repairing and rebuilding houses affected by the Canterbury earthquakes.
Graeme has previously enjoyed participating in the management of the Structural Engineering Society (Sesoc) and the NZ Society for Earthquake Engineering (NZSEE), having served as President of the NZSEE from 2008 to 2010. He has also served on a number of Standards NZ, joint AS/NZS and international standards committees.
