Andrew Congalton Made Director

The Directors are pleased to announce that Andrew Congalton has accepted the position of Director at Engineering Design Consultants, where he joins Patrick Harris, Gareth Williams and Ian Hendy.

Andrew joined EDC in January 2000 as a field assistant on a part time basis while he was studying for his Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental) at Unitec.
On graduating in November 2003 Andrew was offered a permanent position at EDC as a graduate Civil and Environmental Engineer.
In August 2005 Andrew was granted extended leave to travel to the United Kingdom, whilst there he met Giles. There he also played Rugby for a local club and was a regional representative. He then returned to EDC in June 2006 again working in the Environmental and Civil fields in Auckland.
In 2010 Andrew with other members of the Auckland staff responded to the Earthquake in Christchurch and spent numerous hours traveling to Christchurch to support the city in its time of need. After the second quake in February 2011 and in recognition of the supreme effort made by Andrew in working extended hours in a positive way for the betterment of the company and putting our client’s forefront, he was appointed an Associate in April 2011.
In 2012 Andrew transferred to the Christchurch office and worked alongside Sam and Giles in setting up the prominent team we have there today.
In August 2014 Andrew passed his CPEng assessment and became a Chartered Engineer and in March 2015 Andrew was appointed a Senior Associate of EDC.
At the Strategic meeting in March 2016 it was identified that there was a need for a Director in Christchurch. Through his loyalty to the company and his desire to strive for what is best for the Christchurch team and our company as a whole Andrew was the natural choice.

The Directors thank him for all his support to date and wish him and his family many more years of association with EDC.
