Carey Senior Joins Auckland office as Team Leader Civil / Environmental

EDC Auckland are please to welcome Carey Senior to the Civil Team. Carey joins the Auckland Civil and Environmental team bringing 14 years’ of experience in water and infrastructure related projects. He studied Natural Resources Engineering in Christchurch, before beginning his career with Opus in Wanganui. He later transferred within Opus to the UK to work. In between travelling experiences, he worked on private developments, flood risk projects and on-site wastewater projects. He joined a large Contractor in London and got involved in watermain renewals and London Metro drainage projects. Following his UK experience, Carey has spent the last 8 years in Auckland working for URS (now Aecom) and ACH, where he was involved in a variety of development and 3-waters projects. A particular highlight was project managing the construction of 8 km of transmission watermain to connect Pukekohe to Auckland’s water network – the works also involved upgrading three reservoirs.

An active outdoor lifestyle is a big part of what he loves about NZ, and he enjoys all types of sport (with the exception of cricket!). His favourite sport is kite surfing, but his 3 young children have had a marked impact on his ‘free’ time. He loves living in Auckland and is excited to be joining the EDC team and contributing to our reputation as a leading engineering provider.
