Jonathan worked as a Civil Engineering Contractor and Consulting Engineer before immigrating to NZ. He joined EDC, initially as a Civil Engineer and later applied his multi-disciplinary and practical engineering experience in the structural team as well.
Following the 2010 Christchurch earthquakes, Jonathan was instrumental in scoping and negotiating work for what was to become a temporary office of EDC. He commuted regularly for 2 years working long hours with a dedicated team of colleagues and contract engineers together completing approximately 1800 inspections, including writing and/or checking the initial habitability inspection and damage reports. In 2011 a new branch of EDC was established in Christchurch as a result of the initial earthquake work. EDC continues to support existing clients, develop new relationships and contribute to the rebuilding of the ‘Garden City’.
In recognition of his commitment and dedication to the growth of EDC, both in Auckland and Christchurch, Jonathan was appointed as an Associate in 2011.
With the Christchurch office permanently staffed, Jonathan resumed work as a Structural Engineer in the Auckland office, applying his multi-disciplinary engineering skills and IT knowledge to the continued growth of the company. In March 2015, he was appointed a Senior Associate.
Together with his disaster assessment experience, flare for business and engineering focused IT knowledge, Jonathan has been of invaluable assistance in supporting the opening of a new office of EDC in Bay of Plenty, Whakatane.
In April 2017 Jonathan’s unpretentious, sustained and loyal efforts were recognised when he was appointed a Director of EDC.
